Lets Go Europe 2007.....Thumbs up!
Hostel life doesnt get much better than this laid back place, which has themed dorms, genuinely helpful owner, and a common room with movies, music, cheap bear and free internet. Reception 24 Hr...

Top picks, Budapest 2009
We've always loved this laid-back hostel - Budapest first! - in a colorfully painted suburbain ' villa' in the south Buda and we are happy to see more and more hostels are copying its style. The Back Pack relatively small (50 beds), but the fun spillout into a lovely garden with hammock, a yurt and Thai-style lounging platform. The upbeat attitude of the friendly, much travelled owner seems to permeate the place and the welcome is always warm...

SINCE OUR COUNTRY IS LACKING IN BIG MOUNTAINS AND ROCKFACES,
CAVING BECAME REALLY POPULAR IN HUNGARY.
WE TAKE TOURS TO MÁTYÁS CAVE, MADE OF LIMESTONE CLAY. IT'S
ONE OF THE FEW IN THE WORLD FORMED BY THERMAL WATER FROM
THE INSIDE, UNLIKE MOST OTHERS CREATED BY THE RAIN FROM
THE OUTSIDE. HOT THERMAL WATERS (SUPPLYING LOTS OF THERMAL
BATHS IN TOWN) FROM BELOW MADE CREVICES BIGGER & BIGGER,
EVENTUALLY LARGE ENOUGH FOR US TO CRAWL THROUGH.
THE 4500 M LABYRINTH-STYLE CAVE IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC
AND ONLY EXPERIENCED GUIDES CAN LEAD YOU THROUGH.
THIS IS QUITE A CHALLENGING EXPERIENCE.
ALTHOUGH NO PREVIOUS CAVING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY YOU NEED
TO BE REASONABLY ACTIVE AND NOT CLAUSTROPHOBIC.

COME AND GET THE UNDERGROUND EXPERIENCE OF BUDAPEST!

TOUR COSTS: 4500 HUF (~16 EURO)/PERSON
DURATION: approx. 3 HOURS
